Honda Ishirō: if you’re a fan of japanese monsters movies, this name is nothing new to your ears. While this year is the 55th anniversary of the original Godzilla, this book, published by Autorhouse last 12nd of october and written by Peter H. Brothers, a passionate writer that’s not new to the kaijū eiga field -he was part of the staff in the Japanese Giants fanzine, and he wrote articles bout Honda’s movies in various publications.

The book gives an in-depth critical analysis of 25 tokusatsu movies directed by Honda, from Godzilla to Matango, from The Mysterians to Terror of MechaGodzilla. There’s also the story of the director’s life and parts of the book are dedicated to his method of filmaking.

All in all, what it seems a really interesting book, and for people like me, overseas I mean, it’s just in time for Christmas.

Just like yesterday, taa_kun @ LJ keeps postin bout the new Rider movies. Today’s post is specifically for Daburu’s flick. As always, credit for translations and everything goes to him, I’m simply re-postin this here.

STORY
The day when everything began.
This movie can be considered as Episode Zero for the series Kamen Rider Double because all events related to the night when Double was born will all be revealed here. That’s why this movie has the title BEGIN’S NIGHT (which is a grammatical error for me).The setting prepared for this movie is the days when the city Fuuto is preparing itself to celebrate Christmas. Just when people have their hands full with the preparation of Christmas, an urban legend appears. It is said that the dead people are coming back from death and this urban legend has already become a rumor in Fuuto.
A client came to Narumi Detective Office and says that she met her sister whom had already passed away. Hidari Shotarou immediately begins his investigation on this case. During his investigation, he meets an unexpected person. That person is the former chief of Narumi Detective Office, Narumi Soukichi, who was supposed to be killed on the Begin’s Night!

And that’s all for now. From what we can read here, it seems this movie gonna be a interesting one. Personally I’m likin Kamen Rider Double till now, and if the movie will live up to what I’m hopin, I’ll be satisfied. Because, let’s say this, Decade was fun and all, but…but.

I’ve just found some info about the december Kamen Rider movie, the one with the end of Decade and the origins of Daburu. All of this comes from a LJ post, so credit for translation and all goes to taa_kun, not to me.

The official title for the final movie of the infamous series Kamen Rider Decade has been revealed together with the title for the movie of Kamen Rider Double. The title for the final movie of Kamen Rider Decade is 仮面ライダーディケイド～完結編～ or Kamen Rider Decade ~Kanketsuhen~. The timeline for this movie is, of course, after the final episode of the TV series. Rider Daisen or Rider Big War had already happened and both Tsukasa and Yuusuke have disappeared from Natsumi’s sight. Kaitou Daiki then appeared in front of Natsumi and she began a new journey to find Tsukasa and Yuusuke.

The world they were going to visit was being symbolized by the background roll of Earth.On the other hand, Tsukasa met another heroine on his journey. Her name was Misaki Yuriko. She had the ability to transform into Denpa Ningen Tackle (I think most of the fans of this franchise will immediately realize that she was a character appeared in the series Kamen Rider Stronger back in 1975). Yuriko said that she was happy because she could stay right next Tsukasa but she also had a secret…

A new evil organization, Super Shocker (スーパーショッカー), will become Decade’s enemy. Super Shocker itself was being formed by Super Shinigami-hakase (スーパー死神博士). Surprisingly, Narutaki was also an executive from this evil organization. His true form was Zol-taisa (ゾル大佐 – from the original Kamen Rider series). Some of the monsters which will appear in this movie are: Zanjiou (ザンジオー), Jaguar-man (ジャガーマン), Doku-tokage Otoko (毒トカゲ男), and Hiruchameleon (ヒルカメレオン). There will also be a female monster, Hachi-onna (ハチ女), which will be portrayed by Oikawa Nao (及川奈央).
Super Shinigami-hakase himself created the strongest kaijin, Neo Seimeitai Doras (ネオ生命体ドラス), to fight Decade.

As expected, after using Kivaara’s power, Natsumi finally transformed into Kamen Rider Kivaara to stop Decade from destroying the worlds. Ah, seems like a new card, All Rider Final Form Ride is going to be used in this movie.

The scenario for this movie is written by script-writer Yonemura Shoji (米村正二) who also wrote the scenario for the first movie of Decade. On the other hand, the scenario for the movie Kamen Rider W ~Begin’s Night~ (仮面ライダーW～ビギンズナイト～) is written by the main script-writer for the TV series, Sanjo Riku (三条陸). The theme song for this movie of Decade is once again performed by Gackt. The title is Stay the Decade Alive.

As you can see, this movie looks epic. What I would like from it? well, at least a decent finale to Decade, and with decent I mean “something that make sense and doesn’t leave holes”, and a good supportin story for the new Rider, Daburu. I know that to actually watch this flick I’ll have to wait various months, but I keep repeatin myself tha wait will be worthy. Here’s hopin I’ll not be disappointed…

This week girl is Yamamoto Azusa, one of my fav actress; she was in the super sentai series Ninpū Sentai Harikenjā, in the role of Furabijo. Of course, she has worked in various other TV shows, but not tokusatsu-related. You can spot her in the jidaigeki dorama Kōmyō ga Tsuji and in Stand Up!!, just to name a couple of shows she’s in.
